Brief Overview:

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position works in a typical office setting, working a full-time shift during daytime hours, sitting at a computer, and using hands/fingers across a keyboard or mouse, movements such as sitting and standing. May spend a great deal of their day sitting, walking, standing, moving, and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries.
  • Accurate entry of patient demographic/medical data into medical EMR.
  • Schedules patient appointments in EMR.
  • Manages patient health information in EMR.
  • Collects patient and/or clinic data from various sources, as needed.
  • Verifies patient insurance eligibility and verification.
  • Consistently meets established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards.
  • Provide various clerical and administrative support services.
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Provides back up support to multi-specialty clinic providers.
  • Provides patient education to set patient expectations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Answering phones / Text Message communication with providers and or Patients.
  • Payment Collection
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing an EMR/HER
  • Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications
  • MS Office experience required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • 0-1 years of experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
