Depression is diagnosed by a clinical interview, administered by a mental health professional. This clinician will ask questions about the client’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, inviting them to talk about the symptoms they are experiencing. These symptoms will be compared to criteria in the DSM-5 to determine if the client is experiencing a depressive disorder.
Treatments for depression typically include medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. Both medications and therapy can help with symptoms of depression, but the best outcomes are met when both are utilized. Medications can help improve mood while psychotherapy can help reframe negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You do not need a referral to see a TeleMed2U provider.

Medications are not included in the subscription cost. If your provider deems it appropriate to prescribe medication, they will send the prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. The cost of the medication will be paid directly to the pharmacy. If you have insurance, you can use your insurance to cover eligible medications this way.

We understand things happen. If you miss an appointment, we can work with you to get you rescheduled for another available slot. However, if you miss more than two consecutive appointments, we will have to cancel your subscription without a refund as this goes directly to the providers for the time that was set apart for you.
