Dr. Brenda B. Spriggs is a distinguished board-certified rheumatologist based in Northern California. She earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, in 1970, followed by an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Zion Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco, CA, from 1970 to 1972. Dr. Spriggs further specialized in rheumatology with a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), which she completed in 1974.
Dr. Spriggs has had a notable career, serving on the faculty at UCSF, where she played a key role in implementing the clinical component of the Arthritis Act across Northern California before establishing her own clinical practice. She is also a respected healthcare consultant, subject matter expert, public speaker, and author. Her extensive experience includes roles as a clinician, expert examiner, healthcare organization executive, hospital trustee/director, and Clinical Professor Emerita at UCSF.
A leader in her field, Dr. Spriggs is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a Founding Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
