One of our psychiatry providers will assess your symptoms using the DSM-5 criteria during your initial evaluation. Bipolar I and Bipolar II exhibit distinct criteria and diagnosis relies on clinical assessment. Sometimes, clinical assessments and/or scales are also utilized. Our psychiatry providers evaluate symptom history, duration, and impact, aiding accurate identification of bipolar disorder types. Whether you used TeleMed2U or another provider, Biploar disorder is a complex condition and must be assessed and diagnosed properly by a qualified and trained clinician.
Bipolar disorder is typically managed with mood stabilizers and/or atypical antipsychotics, potentially in combination with other medications. A TeleMed2U psychiatry provider will develop a personalized treatment plan that takes a whole-person approach that incorporates lifestyle changes coupled with proven medical therapies. Therapy is also often recommended for distress and long-term therapy for complex issues over months.

You do not need a referral to see a TeleMed2U provider.

Medications are not included in the subscription cost. If your provider deems it appropriate to prescribe medication, they will send the prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. The cost of the medication will be paid directly to the pharmacy. If you have insurance, you can use your insurance to cover eligible medications this way.

We understand things happen. If you miss an appointment, we can work with you to get you rescheduled for another available slot. However, if you miss more than two consecutive appointments, we will have to cancel your subscription without a refund as this goes directly to the providers for the time that was set apart for you.
