Brief Overview:

Enters accurate and complete patient demographic information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Manages patient health information in EMR. Assists with data entry. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurate entry of patient demographic/medical data in EMR to create a complete medical chart ensuring the ability to drop clean claims. Seeks additional information as needed.
  • Uploading of medical records, at least 3 business days prior to clinic for pre-clinic review by specialist.
  • Drops claims to support the billing process.
  • Obtains patient eligibility prior to appointment day. Reverifies eligibility as needed.
  • Documents patient eligibility in patient chart to support billing requirements.
  • Supports the team to complete tasks within established benchmarks and adheres to all deadlines.
  • Remains versatile and is able to prioritize and adjust with shifting demands.
  • Offers suggestions to improve workflows.
  • Employee works well with the team and communicates effectively with team members and management. Demonstrate ownership of the task assigned. Does not need follow ups on completion of tasks. Is aware of the impact of tasks and actions assigned, on the business. Vigilant about the other tasks involving the team and works in a collaborative manner towards achieving common goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in an office setting environment using the computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
  • Previous experience utilizing an EMR/EHR
  • Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications
  • MS Office experience required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
  • Telemedicine experience a plus
